Fuente did an admirable job of building the defensive staff around former Hokies, unless we get a guy with no coaching tree I doubt we see that side of the ball stacked with alumni from the Beamer era again. TG isn't even the DC at South Carolina, he definitely wouldn't get that role here.

I don't like it, but I don't see a way a new guy can come in without starting fresh. We tried to holdover coaching thing with Fu and it worked until his lack of recruiting caught up to him. I think JHam has done an incredible job getting the defense on the road to recovery given the wholesale scheme changes he's made only having guys recruited for the previous system.
